Vehicle Description
This original, two owner, matching-numbers 1970 GTO Ram Air III was
assembled in the Fremont, CA plant and shipped to Bob Longpre
Pontiac in Westminster CA on June 23, 1970. The original owner took
delivery of the vehicle on October 18, 1970. It is powered by a
400ci 8-cylinder engine with 4-barrel carburetor and automatic
transmission. While it retains all of its original chrome it was
repainted in 2007 in Baja Gold and the engine compartment was
professionally restored in 2009. It features original air
conditioning, factory deluxe steering wheel, power brakes and
steering, dual exhaust, and chrome wheel covers, and its leather
interior is in excellent condition. This original GTO is registered
in the Pontiac Historical Society and comes with its original
dealer Protect-O-Plate, extensive maintenance records, and the
original Bill of Sale. A copy of the September 1969 press release
is also included in the extensive file maintained by the owner
including mention of the "revolutionary" windshield-embedded radio
antenna which was featured on all 1970 Pontiac models. This is a
great car with well documented history.
