Vehicle Description
The restoration process for this 1966 El Camino started nearly 10
years ago. The second owner had the 327ci engine completely rebuilt
with mild performance features including a .040 bore, .010
bearings, mild cam, new pistons, rods ground and a polished crank.
An Edelbrock performer manifold and Edelbrock carburetor are added
for increased performance. A new TH350 transmission with shift kit
was added in 2014. There are less than 10,000 miles on the motor
and less than 2,000 miles on the transmission after their builds.
The stock rear-end features 3.36:1 gear ratio. Custom two-stage
paint was applied after detailed body and prep work were performed
to the very original sheet-metal. All exterior chrome pieces are
genuine Chevrolet and have been re-chromed. Disc brakes were added
to the 2" lowered spindles along with a complete rebuild on the
front end including new bushings and shocks on all four corners. To
improve the braking an 8" vacuum power booster master cylinder was
also added. The Vision Legend Series 5-spoke wheels are surrounded
by BFGoodrich G-Force directional tires for performance and
handling. The interior features a Custom Audio Vintage series
stereo system that has Bluetooth capabilities, USB and auxiliary
cord inputs. Combining Kenwood 6"x9" rear speakers, 12" subwoofer
powered by a Pioneer amplifier, and front kick-panel speakers
delivers a wonderful accent to the driving experience in the El
Camino. Newly reupholstered seat, added seat belts, new carpet and
headliner add design features that exceed the factory original
interior. Other features include new windshield, bed liner, halogen
headlights, custom steering wheel and hand painted exterior
badging.
