Vehicle Description
This real NASCAR truck was purchased by the owners of Magic
Customs, Inc., of Brook Park, OH, with a goal of building a
show-quality piece that was true to the original NASCAR truck but
make it street legal and user-friendly. This wasn't an easy task,
but after thousands of dollars and hours invested, that goal was
accomplished. Since completion this truck has been driven 550
miles, which includes the Hot Rod Power Tour held in Cleveland, OH.
It's won many car shows, including the well-known Autorama. The
authentic all-steel NASCAR body has many original features
throughout and a Laughlin chassis; however, many modifications were
made to make it street legal, including cutting the A-pillars and
molding in the headlights and taillights. A front glass windshield
with wiper, mirrors, horn and third brake light were also added.
The original fuel cell with filler and vent was left in its
original location and a new fuel cell with a custom filler was
added. The body is extremely straight and was finished to simulate
Darrell Waltrips Silverado NASCAR pickup. The truck sits on Aero
Racing 15" black wheels with Goodyear Eagle #1 NASCAR tires. The
painted interior is absolutely beautiful and well organized for
easy operation. The center tube of the cage was deleted for the
addition of a passenger seat. Some features include custom gauges
and switches, quick-release steering wheel, Butler aluminum seats,
Simpson seatbelts, Hurst shifter, and a cup holder with a
period-correct NASCAR cup. The painted engine compartment is highly
detailed and home to the GM ZZ4 V8 engine and many upgrades. The
engine breathes out custom headers and a side exhaust system with
Flowmaster mufflers, and is cooled by a Moroso aluminum radiator
with electric fans and CSR Performance overfill tank. The engine is
coupled to a Super T-10 4-speed manual transmission with a
hydraulic clutch that transfers power through the Ford 9" floating
rear end with 3.73 gears. It's equipped with power steering for
easy turning and Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes for quick stopping.
The front suspension consists of a stronger sway bar, lightweight
springs, Carrera chrome shocks, NASCAR lower control arms and
custom upper control arms, while the NASCAR rear suspension has
truck arms and performance springs.
