Vehicle Description
An automotive writer once commented that no other car seemed quite
so natural as a convertible than a Lincoln, and with the design of
the 1956 Lincoln Premiere, you can easily see what was meant. When
you crown its flowing lines with a rakish convertible top, it is
simply the extension of the essential Lincoln theme of design;
stylish and ready for action. The outstanding '50s design is
accompanied by Middle Ages symbolism in the form of an armored
knight's head, which appears at the crest of the hood ornament, and
which also cleverly conceals the key slot for the trunk. The knight
is a remnant of the Lincoln coat of arms-style shield that graced
earlier models. This convertible represents the 195th car built and
was body-off restored in its original Taos Turquoise color scheme
with leather interior. It is powered by a 368ci, 275hp
overhead-valve V8 engine with 4-barrel carburetor and Turbo-Drive
automatic transmission. Options on this fine vehicle include Town &
Country radio, power windows, seats and antenna. Additionally this
car has a dealer-option Continental kit that positions at a unique
angle. A good amount of documentation accompanies the car,
including owner history, 2006 Lincoln Continental Owners Club
(LCOC) 98 of 100 point judging records and period Lincoln
literature. This remarkable example of '50s styling combined with
Lincoln luxury - it just needs to be taken out on the road and
enjoyed.
