This '56 Ford F-100 was an extremely solid piece when its
high-quality, frame-off restoration began. This truck spent all of
its life in the California desert, where it's nice and dry. The
body was stripped to bare metal and improved in a thorough rebuild.
A custom chassis was designed to take on a factory C6 Corvette Z06
suspension. Utilizing the Camaro rear differential and custom
axles, this plan all came together to create an amazing machine.
The custom features throughout this truck include shaved turn
signals and incorporated into the headlights, roll pans front and
rear, rounded door corners, filled-in drip rails, Kindig-It door
handles, 3" wider rear fenders, smooth running boards, smooth
tailgate, tubbed bed, power one-piece door glass and LED
taillights. The running gear is a modern Mustang 5.0 Coyote engine
and 6R80 automatic transmission. The engine wiring, supplied by Ron
Francis, controls the Coyote with its fly-by wire system and
6-speed automatic transmission. Vintage Air Front Runner system
drives the front of the engine. It has a Mattson polished radiator
and air-conditioning condenser setups. The interior's starting
system is modeled after today's modern push-start system, which
includes a key fob. Race mufflers add to the sound of the overall
theme.
