Vehicle Description
This 1966 El Camino was built by West Coast Customs for NASCAR
legend Rusty Wallace. The car's build was featured on their hit
television show in an episode titled "El Rusty." The car also
features numerous upgrades by another renowned builder, Detroit
Speed. This modern take on the classic El Camino sits on a custom
Roadster Shop chassis. At its heart is a 505hp, 383ci V8 built by
Pro Motor Engines and featuring the latest Edelbrock EFI. Putting
all of this power to the ground is done with a 700R4 automatic
transmission mated to a custom carbon-fiber driveshaft, 9" Ford
rear end with a 3.34 gear ratio, and an aggressive set of Michelin
tires. This car is as beautiful and comfortable to drive as it is
fast. It features a custom blue metallic paint (reminiscent of many
of Wallace's famous racing cars), a gorgeous set of custom front
fender wells and a laser-straight body. Wallace personally took
great pride in ensuring proper body panel alignment. On the inside,
the car includes a custom tan leather interior, digital gauges,
modern air conditioning by Vintage Air, and - as to be expected
from West Coast Customs - an incredible sound system. Said Wallace,
"In my opinion and the opinion of many others in the industry, this
could be the nicest El Camino in the country, if not the world!"
