Vehicle Description
Just recently acquired from a long-term collector in Michigan. A
good testament to the quality of this car is knowing that the
restoration work including and overall bare metal paint refinish
was completed over 20 years ago. This 1968 unmolested 302ci
8-cylinder engine and a 4-speed manual transmission convertible
appears as though the work was just finished. A very thorough
service including the fitment of new correct original equipment
tires was just completed and finished with a good road test. A
detailed inspection reveals that this Shelby is an original
drivetrain car. The car was cared for all of its life as there is
no evidence of rust repair with mint original floors and factory
dated original quarter panels. Another good indicator of the life
this Shelby has led is recognizing the mostly original interior and
the superb condition it is in. What restoration work that has been
performed is of a professional level of quality in both labor and
replacement parts. Important in the ownership of any Shelby are two
pieces of historical documentation of which this car has both. A
clear listing in the registry of the Shelby American automobile
club which maintains Shelby's original records and secondly, a
Marti Report backing up Ford Motor Company's build records from
1968.
