Vehicle Description
Restored by Thornton Muscle Cars with great attention to detail.
Every nut, bolt and screw was taken out and the car was placed on a
rotisserie. This Mach 1 is powered by a Boss 429 upgraded by Jon
Kaase to a custom-built 520ci Boss Nine engine with a Tremec
6-speed manual transmission. The engine has Inglese electronic
fuel-injection stacks, a FAST EFI box, hydraulic rollers and Billet
Specialties Tru Trac serpentine system and is cooled by a
made-to-fit radiator. The headers and 3" exhaust were custom-made
to the contour of this car. The engine was dynoed at 757hp and 724
ft/lbs of torque on pump gas. This Mustang rides on a custom-built
2x3 full frame with Total Control front suspension, Total Control
Products rear push-rod suspension on a Fab 9" rear with a 3.50
ratio, and is stopped by Wilwood 14" drilled and slotted disc
brakes. The Mustang also has LED headlights and taillights. It is
finished in House of Kolor Kandy Apple Red with a Mach 1 Brandywine
stripe. The steel hood has custom-designed metal scoop. The deluxe
interior is complemented with carbon-fiber Auto Meter gauges and
Vintage Air. The build was completed in 2014. Best of Show winner.
