Vehicle Description
This car is certified by Boyd Coddington Companies and comes with a
beautiful signed and custom-framed Certificate of Authenticity.
Built on Boyd's show, "American Hot Rod" on the Discovery Channel,
the sale includes a set of DVDs showing all the episodes of the
"Boydster III" being built on the show. The car is also featured in
the book "The Fine Art of Custom Hot Rod." A signed copy of this
hardback 240-page book is also included. A beautiful example of
Boyd Coddington's fine craftsmanship, the Boydster III took more
than one year to fabricate at Boyd Coddington's shop in La Habra,
CA. In 2004, the car debuted at the Goodguys Rod and Custom 6th PPG
Nationals in Columbus, OH, in 2004. A signed and framed poster from
the Goodguys featuring the Boydster III is included. The Boydster
III combines design elements from 1933 and 1934 Fords with seamless
sweeping lines, best shown by the running boards between the front
and back fenders. Built on one of Boyd's custom Pro-Ride chassis,
it's equipped with a 351ci Ford Racing engine and an automatic TPI
transmission complete with a Lokar shifter, pedals and cables. Gabe
Lopez of California completed the Eric Brockmeyer-design interior.
Riding on staggered Boyd Coddington Custom Magneato wheels wrapped
in Goodyear tires, the front and rear suspension feature Carrera
shocks with 4-wheel custom disc brakes. It's finished in purplish
blue and yellow.
