390 FE Motor Complete rebuild with Fuel Injection
Brand new cooling sytem
Replaced drum brakes with disc brakes.
Has the AC lines but no compressor
Exhaust system all brand new
Ford 390 FE Engine – Fresh Rebuild
1. Crankshaft Main and Rod bearing Journals ground 0.020
2. Rods checked for straightnesss
3. Block and heads hot tanked and checked for cracks (none found)
4. Block bored 0.040, honed for proper PTV clearance
5. Cylinder heads had complete valve job, springs re-shimmed, and heads reassembled with new valve seals
6. New cam bearings installed
7. Rotating assembly balanced. All machine work done at Craig’s Automotive in Eunice, LA
8. New Parts:
a. New freeze and oil block off plugs installed
b. Keith Black Hypereutectic 0.040” over pistons, 9.8:1 CR. Full floating pins with double spiro-locks
c. File fit piston rings (provided with Piston kit)
d. King AM Series Main and Rod bearings
e. Melling oil pump and pickup
f. ARP oil pump drive shaft
g. Scott Drake Harmonic Balancer
h. ARP Harmonic Balancer bolt
i. COMP Magnum Cam and Lifter kit, single pattern, 270 advertised duration, 224 @ 0.050” duration, 0.519” lift
j. Cloyes Hex-a-just timing set
k. Summit brand 5/16” pushrods, 9.620”
l. Tuff Stuff Performance water pump
m. Carter Super Street mechanical fuel pump
n. Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum intake manifold
o. FITech Go EFI 600 fuel injection with Fuel Command Center
p. Fel-Pro gaskets used throughout
q. Brand new, not refurbished, 4 core high flow radiator
r. Zirgo BLU 3000 cfm electric cooling fan
s. External Transmission oil cooler
t. Replaced transmission input and output seals
u. Changed transmission filter and pan gasket
v. One-wire, 140A alternator installed
9. Engine measurements, final assembly, installation, and break-in done by Nicholas Pohl. No Plastigauge allowed. Everything miked and bore checked with precision instruments.
