Vehicle Description
Lot #1282 - In the 1962, the bubble top was reserved for the
Biscayne and Bel Air models only. When the 409ci big-block V8 was
bored out to one horsepower per cubic inch for the 1962, the two
features merged to make one of Chevy's all-time classic muscle
cars. Here the 409/409hp bubble-top Chevrolet is at its best, a
performance machine in the classic sleeper tradition. This car was
produced at Chevrolet's Los Angeles, CA, plant. With a professional
concours restoration, it is painted its original color of #914
Nassau Blue with matching interior. It is presented as ordered with
a dual-quad, solid-lifter big-block 409ci power plant teamed up
with a heavy-duty 4-speed manual transmission. Painted steel wheels
with dog-dish hubcaps and blackwall tires, radio and heater delete
and a column-mounted Sun tachometer emphasize the Bel Air's
no-nonsense look. The Soft Ray tinted glass and California
one-piece bumper add just the right amount of flair. The attention
to detail is evident throughout this outstanding Bel Air bubble top
409. It has three Gold Spinner awards and one Best in Show.
