Pocono Race fans here's the truck for you!!! Sold new to a Pocono fan, this 1990 truck has only 42,300 miles since new. It is in exceptional original condition with absolutely no rust! The rare custom Pocono Official Truck "Two Step" conversions were done by Chattanooga Custom Center. It is fashioned after the GMC Motorsports Pace Trucks from the late 80s-early 90s (See photos ). I purchased this truck from the original Owner's family with 40,300mi. One of only 17 built, one was used as a pace truck/pace car, the others courtesy vehicles, or just fan owned. Search the internet and you will only find this one and "Smokey" the Pocono Pace Truck on FB.
Power comes from a great running 5.7L V8 with automatic transmission and everything works as it should. A/C, windows, cruise, tilt, AM/FM/auto-reverse cassette (Oh baby!) and a 60/40 bench seat. The bed is clean and rust free though the paint has pealed on the bed bottom somewhat (see photos). The roof top carrier shown mounted in the bed is included for hauling/securing stuff to events. Near new Hankook tires on very nice aluminum wheels. Not concours condition, but an extremely presentable and fun vehicle! The truck is TURN KEY! Not a project..
Drive this truck to the races, cruise-ins, or just out for ice cream in the summer.
UPDATE: We're calling the truck "Survivor 2X" these days as not only has it survived 30 years unmolested and well cared for, but it also survived an HBO set fire May 2019 in Ellenville NY. It was one of a number of collector cars assembled to re-create a 1990 GM dealership. Unfortunately the dealership burned to the ground and many vehicles lost! Though very near the fire, there was relatively little damage. A melted taillight was the worst of it. The vehicle thoroughly checked out by my mechanic. We replaced the Calipers and wheel cylinders to be sure. The current lead photo and Pocono track photos all taken after the HBO catastrophe. HBO set and fire photos also posted. August 2019 the truck went back to Pocono Raceway for the IndyCar weekend which included a paddock car show, quick parade laps on the Tricky Triangle, and some pretty fast laps on the infield road course! Yeah a couple of the Corvettes lapped the truck, but the truck lapped the Porsche... The truck handles GREAT!
