Vehicle Description
Every Princess needs a chariot and Princess Diana had hers. You are
reviewing the Chariot used by Princess Diana and Prince Charles for
her introduction to North America as a Princess.Review the video
posted on this listing to witness this Rolls Royce carrying
Princess Diana and Prince Charles to the White House for
introduction to Ronald and Nancy Reagan. This Rolls Royce is the
most significant in Princess Diana's United States history.Bought
new by the Embassy of the United Kingdom in 1979,it was not put
into service until 1981.The reason for this is because the first 2
years were spent armoring the car against bullets, grenades, and
small bombs. The bullet proof glass is also sealed shut to protect
against gas attack. This transformation cost in excess of $200,000
and took the car from a 5000 lb car to 10,000 lbs.The car was the
VIP in the fleet of the British Embassy until it was retired in
1988.It was this very car that carried the Royal couple during
their US visit.
After the car was retired it was purchased by Farley Berman, founder
of the Berman History Museum and owner of the worlds most extensive
collection of historic weaponry.Farley considered this car the most
valuable piece in his collection valuing it at $2 million
dollars.
The car was purchased by an eclectic car collector in Nashville Tn
and put in his collection.Due to the significance of the car he
felt it appropriate to renew and sort any mechanical issues the car
may have,he spent over $17000 with a local marque specialist.
This car would be appropriate addition to any personal collection
or museum.Review the photos posted. The car will come with all
books, records, video of White House visit as well as the Embassy log
book. The video footage may be viewed here:
