This 1950 Studebaker 2R5 Truck is Very Clean
with no damages or rust ever. It spent most of its life
in Arizona and has the Historical Vehicle Copper Plates.
Repainted in the late 90's with a replacement interior package.
All the glass is in good condition and the passenger side vent
window is missing the latch...the window regulators work well.
The vacuum wipers have been removed (still have them) with
the intention of updating to 12v...this was started before I bought it.
It is mostly original except for being rewired (painless wiring harness)
to 12 volt with alternator and the dash has new 'modern' gauges.
The body lines are near factory perfect and the
bed has no dents...never used except to haul groceries.
It cranks right up every time and runs good. The paint
is about 25 years old and could use an update.
Everything works as it should and this truck is one of
the best examples of a 68 year old vehicle I've ever seen.
I looked for nearly 10 years for a 2R5 Studebaker truck and
virtually gave up...they were all too ragged and rusted or far
to expensive for me. Actually, I purchased a 1954 Chevy 3100
pickup instead...then a year later this one became available.
So, I wasted no time in flying to Washington state and making
a deal with the owner. He was a true Studebaker lover and
kept it in a climate controlled garage, driving it occasionally.
He had uncles that owned a Studebaker Dealership in north Texas.
The Studebaker 2R5 Trucks offered many new revolutions to the
truck market...first with no outside running boards, instead they use
inside the door steps...First with double wall bed sides...they also
have an open driveshaft and small flares on the fenders.
I am listing my 1950 Studebaker 2R5 for $19,500 and will consider
reasonable offers from a serious buyer. This is not a need to sell situation.
I am getting up in years and have other things on my bucket list.
So, I am going to sell my exceptionally clean old truck.
Also includes a (complete-good running) Stude '47 Flathead 6 and
an Overdrive Transmission with all the required controls...on a pallet.
Easy complete Bolt-in Overdrive swap. The extra motor came with
the O.D. Transmission and it has lots of new parts. This is a Good Value.
Thanks,
