This 1940 Graham Sharknose has lead a sheltered life. It is not a barn find, but a car that has been treated with respect its whole life. The car has never been filled with rat turds. It's a very original car that appears to have had one repaint in the original color. The interior is original. The car is rust free except for a quarter size spot inside the rear wheel well. Yes it has some small bruises and scratches and pitted chrome, but what an amazing patina on this car!
Rare in 1940, its even rarer in a 2 door club coupe body. When I purchased the car in 2011, as found in the state of Washington, it had not been registered since 1979. I recently bought it back to life and its runs and drives well. I believe the mileage to be original. The brake system was completely restored with a new master, wheel cylinders and brake hoses. The radiator was re-cored and the water pump rebuilt. The carb was restored as was the gas tank. An electric fuel pump was added as well as a new 6V battery. All fluid were also changed. Add a new distributor cap, rotor, wires and points and she was good to go. There are some spare headlight chrome pieces I picked up that are included.
I could not bring myself to restore this car cosmetically because of the amazing survivor condition it is in. You've heard it before, "its only original once". Look at the pictures and call me with questions, The next keeper will enjoy it immensely.
