Vehicle Description
1966 Chevrolet Corvette L79 Roadster For Sale - Beautifully
Restored LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1966 Chevrolet
Corvette L79 Roadster The mid-year Chevrolet Corvettes are one of
the most iconic American cars of the 1960's. America's Sports Car
had developed a reputation of great performance and unmistakable
styling. Of course, it was the big block 427 cars which garnered a
lot of the attention but the high horsepower 327 cars were among
the best balanced sports car for the time. Similar to the 289 vs
427 Cobra, the 327 Corvettes are often looked upon as being the
better of the two engines for those looking for a balance of
drivability, performance and comfort. Unlike the first generation,
the Sting Ray could be had in both coupe and convertible body
styles, and this proved to be a big hit with the public. Over the
course of the Sting Ray's production from 1963 to 1967, styling
remained largely the same albeit for some subtle changes.
Four-wheel disc brakes and a big-block engine became available in
1965, and with a long list of options and colors, enthusiasts could
mix and match to their hearts' desires. This 1966 Corvette
Convertible is powered by the numbers matching 327-cubic inch,
350-horsepower specification engine mated to a four-speed manual
transmission, along with the optional side-mounted exhaust. It is
finished in beautiful Milano Maroon over a black leather interior.
The car is finished off with some beautiful and iconic optional
knock-off wheels. The car has been regularly serviced and
maintained since restoration by its previous fastidious owner.
Lighter than the 427-cubic inch Corvettes and bestowed with better
weight distribution and plenty of horsepower, small-block Corvettes
are wonderful drivers. Comfortable at speed and capable of keeping
up with modern traffic with ease, a convertible can easily double
as a warm-weather top down cruiser. This particular example
presents very nicely and will surely please its next caretaker.
