Vehicle Description
1957 Chevrolet 150 Sedan
This cool 57 has the classic 50's look but a few choice
customizations add a bit of toughness that really sets it apart.
The car was built in 2010 and completely disassembled. The body off
build was very well done and the odometer was replaced at that time
so the 9,649 miles is accurate to the build date. The body is very
straight and all rust free. The Pearl Silver paint has a beautiful
shine and the fin/deck color is Pearl White. All of the original
style trim is mounted cleanly in place and has a nice shine along
with the chrome. The glass is all in good condition and is smoke
glass which contrasts nicely against the body colors. The car rides
on a set of nice Weld Racing wheels with Chevy logo center
caps.
The tubbed rear and those wide rear wheels aren't just for looks
because the entire stock drivetrain was changed out from front to
back. It is now powered by a Chevy Performance ZZ4 350/355hp motor
backed by a 700R4 automatic transmission with shift kit and Ford 9
inch positrac rear end (3.93 gears). The engine is topped with a
Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor and finned Edelbrock air cleaner. It
has a great sound with 2 1/2 inch exhaust that moves through
Flowmaster mufflers and exits out of the rear. The radiator support
is painted in a nice gloss Black and holds the Jack Matson aluminum
radiator. That along with the electric fan keeps the car running
cool in any weather. The car is very comfortable to drive with
power steering and power brakes making it a really enjoyable car to
take out. It has 4 wheel Willwood disc brakes which slow it to a
stop with ease. An American Auto wiring kit eliminates any
electrical problems and keeps the electrical wires all
organized.
One of the very cool features of this car is the fact that it is a
factory radio and clock delete car and remains that way today. This
gives the dash a very clean look free from clutter. Everyone likes
to cruise around with music though so a hidden Kenwood stereo has
been added to the trunk along with a Rockford Fosgate 300 amp. The
upholstery is in great shape and is the original cloud style
pattern. The gauges were all replaced and work properly. The
underdash AC blows cold and it is a Vintage AC/Heat system. In
front of the driver sits the Tilt Ididit column topped with an
aftermarket wheel with Chevy bowtie horn button. The trunk features
the original style mat and in addition to the stereo it houses the
battery.
This cool 57 is a fun driving car and looks great rolling down the
road. Having a vintage look with modern performance makes it ideal
for anyone looking to get into the hobby.
