Designed by the legendary Bertone styling house, the Alfa Romeo GT series was produced in many forms from 1963 to 1977. Featuring classic proportions, RWD, front engine, and the traditional Alfa shield grill, these cars were immediate hits. There were a variety of engines, with the most popular being the 2.0l twin cam four cylinder in the GTV models.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this very rare and gorgeous 1974 GTV for your consideration. Fitted with the desirable 2.0L twin cam with SPICA fuel injection that pumps out 132hp and sounds magnificent, this car is very unique. The engine features a rebuild in 2007 to the cost of $4,750. It is mated to a smooth shifting 5-speed manual that is free of any of the synchro problems that some cars have. The car is in beautiful cosmetic shape, courtesy of a restoration 11 years ago. The car was repainted in the factory Rosso Corsa Alfa color and the black interior is also in great shape. The seats and headliner are all great, as is the dash and wood trim. Recently, a new fuel pump and fuel filters, new gas tank sending unit, new clutch & clutch slave cylinder, new trunk and door weather stripping, and new seat belts were added. New floor pans were replaced and the work looks flawless. A large binder of receipts is provided as well. Originally sold in New Jersey, this car came to us from California, where it was very well maintained. The car is also fitted with very rare factory A/C, which is currently not hooked up, but all of the parts appear to be present. The car has frenched foglights as well as a sump guard.
The GTV represents one of the high points in small, sporty european cars that offered handling and practicality in the face of massive domestic cars. This particular GTV is a joy to drive, with a peppy motor that sounds fantastic, and an easy shifting transmission. It brakes, turns, and goes perfectly.
