1956 CONTINENTAL MARK II
Ford Motor Company reinstated the Continental brand with the introductionof the Mark II Coupe in 1956. Not a Lincoln, these truly were hand built cars. Their $10,000 price tag was equivalent to a Rolls Royce or two Cadillacs in 1956. Designed to be the best of the best, they were purchased by the worlds most wealthy and well known people.
With only 2,600 sold in 1956 and about 440 sold in 1957, the Continental brand was absorbed by Lincoln in 1958. Every Mark II was sold at a loss to Ford, but the Continental name and design elements have for survived for decades. At some point this car went through a cosmetic restoration of new paint, and some chrome refreshed. Wonderful driving car, original drive train.
This car has had a very nice dual stage repaint in factory Powder Blue. Most of the chrome looks original including the bumpers. Original two tone Blue leather seat upholstery. Original door panels, carpet, headliner and dash. We can include a new interior as part of the purchase.
