Gateway Classic Cars Philadelphia is proud to offer this classic
1951 Mercury Sport Sedan. Check out this rare original Classic!
Those who really enjoy these cars--and they're as iconic as
anything that emerged from the industry's immediate postwar
reawakening--think that of the redesigned Mercury models, 1949 thru
1951, those from 1951 are the best of the trio. Instead of having a
somewhat incongruously rounded rump, the 1951 Mercury gained new
vertical taillamps, replacing the erstwhile wraparound horizontal
units, and regally elevated rear sheet metal to match. The buyers
liked it. Few may realize it today, but among the historic
three-year run of Mercury that commenced in 1949, the final cars
from 1951 held the sales lead. This 1951 Mercury with suicide doors
and the original Flathead V8 with three speeds on the column is a
prime example. This Mercury is Green with Green vinyl interior. The
body and paint look great. We are not sure how old the paint job
is, but it has been updated and looks great. The interior is near
perfect and the chrome trim is in excellent condition. This Classic
is equipped with skirts, white wall tires, radio, heater and more.
The electrical system has been upgraded from 6 volt to 12 volt.
Check out the chrome grille on this car it is awesome. The Mercury
is one of the most popular sedans with Hot Rodders, it's styling is
iconic. To view this 1951 Mercury Sport Sedan in greater detail,
