Our Detroit Showroom is proud to offer a rare 1962 Chevy Impala SS
409. The Impala was introduced by Chevrolet in 1958 as the top of
the line in the Bel Air hardtop and convertible series. The
wheelbase is 5 inches longer vs. lower priced models, although the
overall length is identical. Significant redesigns in 1959 and 1961
saw the Impala become its own separate series. The 1962 model
featured new "C" pillar styling with wraparound rear window. Engine
choices were headlined by the massive 409cid V8 Rated at 409hp. The
Beach Boys produced a hit single "409" referring to this Chevrolet.
Super Sport (SS) models featured 409 power and additional trim
details designed to stand out from the crowd. The beautiful Impala
was once a newer frame-off restored car but has enjoyed lots of
road life showing off its sleek body lines and unmistakable
appearance. This Roman Red 1962 Impala SS includes 4 speed manual
transmission with its original shift knob that is impossible to
find. The engine compartment gleams and is host to a true QB 409
Dual Quad engine with 11:1 compression and a solid lifter cam. The
interior of this show ready vehicle is done in red vinyl and the
whole package is set off nicely with chrome bumpers and stock
wheels. Additional features include, power steering and AM/FM
radio. This Roman red machine has new brakes including the master
cylinder, new power steering, and a new wiper motor ensuring that
it is ready to cruise and is located at our Detroit showroom. You
