For Sale: 1971 Austin Mini Cooper in Kentwood, Michigan

Having been sold for over 41 years, the Mini Cooper is one of the most recognized and loved cars ever built. It is as much as a pop icon as it is basic and economical transportation. While it was designed as a simple economy car by the brilliant Sir Isaac Issigonis, the Mini was pretty much classless and was loved by royalty and lower class alike. It was built and sold all around the world and came in a variety of body styles and engines. It lived through tons of brand changes and the last models built in 2000 were still based on the original 1959 model.

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this cheeky Mini Cooper MK VII by Rover. This Mini was built by Rover in the UK as the last production model of the "True Mini". It appears like one of the final cars produced with such upgrades like a full width dashboard, airbag equipped steering wheel, new seats and upgraded climate control. These end of production, Rover built Mini's, retained the classic small packaging but are also upgraded with a 1275 CC inline 4-cylinder engine fed via fuel injection and managed with electronic ignition. The engine's performance is transferred via a 4 speed manual gearbox and applied by front wheel drive technology. The small engine is eager to rev and the car is much quicker than you'd think. It drives like a little go cart!

Finished in Flame Red and optioned with the Sport Pak, this car is as perfect as they come with only 842 original miles. The paint and exterior is excellent. Chrome trim is perfect and period rally lights, flares, and minilight wheels add to the charm. The interior is likewise in perfect shape and looks as good as new. These last of production Minis are extremely rare in the States and very few will be in this condition. Originally imported from Holland and owned by the current owner for three years and has been kept in a climate controlled garage. Now is the chance to buy a rare example of the fabulous Mini!
