Car-Accompanied by its Original Tool Roll and SpareThe Previous
owner purchased this car several years ago from a long time
California resident who maintained and enjoyed the car for many
years, accumulating most of the 81,945 miles, which are believed to
be original. It still retains the California black and yellow
license plates, which have accompanied the car for many years.
Significant time and resources have been spent on the car with
Ferrari experts Dino Motors of San Mateo, CA. Last year, the car
was serviced with 81,876 miles including replacing the oil and oil
filters, all fluids checked, clutch adjusted, brakes bled, topping
off the differential fluid, and repairs to the interior lighting.
Additional work included a comprehensive brake job at 81,379
including a new booster, lines, caliper seals, and front and rear
pads. In 2009, Dino Motors performed $11,000.00 worth of service on
the car including a new exhaust system, valve adjustment, new
pinion seal, carburetor adjustments, distributor seals,
differential seals, and valve cover gaskets. This particularly
beautiful car has been recently finished by award winning painter
Charlie Potts in the stunning original Verde Pino Metallic, which
must be counted as one of the most exceptional colors of this
period. The paint finish is excellent throughout displaying
beautiful luster using the correct metallic formula per the
original paint specifications. Panel fit is quite nice with the
doors, hood, and trunk showing excellent closure and latching. Much
of the exterior chrome has been recently done to a high standard
including the Borrani wheels, which together amounted to $16,000.00
worth of recent expense. The interior was redone some time ago but
still presents in nice condition overall with good surface finish
to the seating. Carpeting remains nice, while the dashboard and
instruments are beautifully maintained exhibiting excellent color,
clarity, and numeric indication. The wood rimmed steering wheel is
also nicely done, as are the headliner, door panels, and dash-pad.
Overall the various trim, interior components, and details have
been addressed with thoughtful considerations toward originality.
The trunk compartment has been carpeted and retains an original
tool roll with tools as well as a Borrani spare wire wheel. Under
the hood, the original matching numbers engine delivers a nice,
settled impression, prepared with correct finishes, proper hoses,
lines, and correct fasteners. The engine exhibits an honest
representation of the hallmark 250 including the correct air
cleaner, nicely finished cam covers, and a few modern allowances
for contemporary use. The car starts easily and idles smoothly,
delivering the sweet and tight sounding V12 machined symphony as
only a vintage Ferrari can offer. The gearbox is easily engaged and
driving very pleasant due to the diligent servicing this car has
recently received. Driving manners are much as one might expect
from a car of this era, delivering a motoring experience of both
performance and luxury.Offered in exceptional colors, this Ferrari
250 GTE is a wonderfully presented car with long-term California
ownership history, stunning fresh paint, and excellent exterior
