With a focus on providing the middle class an affordable automobile
that presented high-end looks; Ford redesigned the Custom model in
1950 and changed the name to the Custom Deluxe. Offered in a 2-door
coupe and sedan; 4-door sedan and wagon models; the Custom Deluxe
had a broad audience. Available with both Inline 6 and Flathead V8
engine options and several interior and exterior options; the
Custom Deluxe provided buyers many ways to customize their
purchase.
This 1950 Custom Deluxe Convertible has undergone a frame-off
restoration. The exterior is presented in Matador Red with stunning
custom beige leather interior. The black power convertible top
opens and closes with pull of a lever and the exterior brightwork
and wide whitewall tires are impeccable. Driving on a 239 cubic
inch flathead V8 tied to a three-speed transmission; upon pressing
the car's push-button start; it's sound lets you know the drive
will be fun. Upgraded to a 12-volt electrical system; the car is a
joy to operate and turns heads on the road. Luxury custom airliner
leather interior rounds out what is a unique classics making a nod
to both old and new.
