Ferrari's new 348 model was launched at the Frankfurt Auto Show in
September of 1989, and featured a monocoque main structure. It
shared its V-8 engine with the Mondial, but was enlarged to
3.4-liters and mounted longitudinally in a steel rear sub-frame
with a transverse gearbox. It wore Pininfarina styling and provided
continuity with the prior 308/328 models while having several
styling cues of the Testarossa. Offered in Berlinetta, Targa and
Spider form the TB (Berlinetta) is arguably one of the most
beautiful designs of all the V8 Ferraris.
Offered here is an example that has truly benefited from a pampered
life and makes the ultimate presentation in its stunning color
combination. 82673 was purchased new in late March 1990 at Monterey
Jaguar/Rolls/Ferrari of Seaside, California, finished in specially
ordered Blu Medio (Medium Blue) over gray leather upholstery. The
348 would remain in the area under the care of its original owner
until 2014, receiving regular maintenance throughout the years,
performed by Jaguar of Seaside. Its last engine-out "Major" was
performed at Forza Motors of Monterey, just prior to his sale of
the car in 2014 at 10,680, therefore the 348 has covered a merely
555 miles since its last major service. Most recently, Sphere
Motorsports of Houston has serviced this stunning Ferrari which is
accompanied with a file of service records/receipts.
Today the 348 Berlinetta presents itself in unmodified, original
configuration, displaying factory applied paintwork and upholstery,
while complete with all matching books, tools and emergency
accessories. Both cosmetics and mechanicals are in excellent
condition, reflecting a life of meticulous and limited ownership.
Paint meter readings are consistent and the cars has had the
"sticky" buttons issue corrected, a common problem. Additionally in
preparation for its sale it has received a thorough detailing from
top to bottom. Truly a very special example of the early 1990's
