ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS, NICELY RESTORED, SLIGHTLY MODIFIED, 1974 FORD BRONCO CLASSIC...LOADED WITH 351 V8, AUTOMATIC, POWER STEERING, POWER FRONT DISC BRAKES AND A/C....READY TO SHOW AND GO!!!
Forget Fall Fever....It's Bronco Fever time and this gorgeous '74 Classic Bronco could be the cure if you have the fever! I recently bought this beautiful Bronco from a gentleman here in the Atlanta, GA area who bought it 3 years ago. He had been looking for quite a while for a rust free Bronco that he could restore to enjoy and found this one in Georgia. He was a true classic car enthusiast and had restored a 1972 Chevelle SS prior to the Bronco but caught the Bronco fever like so many people have in recent years. He sold the Chevelle to afford the build on the Bronco. The Bronco was in great condition overall when he got it, but he had a vision of what he wanted and found a great shop to handle the restoration and modifications. About a year later it was completed and he enjoyed driving it immensely. An opportunity to purchase a lake property came along and to afford the build on the lake house he reluctantly decided to let the Bronco go to a new owner...maybe you??!!! If you have been on the search for an early Ford Bronco you know how hot the market is on these. They have been showing up at all of the high end collector auctions and the demand level continues to rise and rightfully so as these convertible 4 wheel drive rigs are a blast to drive and attract all the attention you can handle on the road and at the car shows and cruise-ins.
The paint and body on this '74 Bronco are absolutely fantastic!!! I do not use the terminology "show quality" very often as everyone has a different opinion of what that means but I do feel that the paint and body on this one deserve me saying that in my opinion it Is show quality, especially for a Bronco! The color is really stunning and as you will see in the pics looks brighter in the sun and darker inside and in the shade. It is a beautiful shade of Burgundy Metallic accented with Silver metallic fender flares and custom ram air hood treatment. Body panel fit is excellent overall and panels are extremely straight. Doors shut nicely and line up well. The body had no rust issues prior to restoration and the body was stripped to bare metal before the show quality base coat/clear coat paint was done. This Bronco is all steel with the exception of the hood which is a Wild Horses "Buckaroo" high quality fiberglass hood that really gives this Bronco a distinctive, aggressive look. This Bronco also has the chrome Sport trim around the windows and chrome trim around the grille which has been painted in the silver color with the red Ford Letters. Brand new bumpers look awesome and a great looking roll bar was also painted silver to match. Bikini top was custom made in light silver color to match. Weatherstripping was all replaced, glass looks great and windows roll up and down nicely. Great set of step up bars from Toms Bronco Parts were also painted silver to match and have nice set of chrome steps. As you will see in the pics the sun was glistening off the chrome steps causing a reflection along the lower doors. If you are not a huge fan of the step up bars they can removed easily as they are bolted on. They do making getting in and out easier. I truly think this Bronco looks even better in person!! As you will see in the photo tour below it looks pretty great in the pics as well. The paint and body are really near flawless but to be safe lets assume there might be a rock chip or two I may have missed. I am confident that the next lucky owner will be absolutely thrilled when this beauty arrives in their driveway and I think the photo tour of the body will show you what you want to see.
I think the best way to enjoy these Early Ford Bronco Classics is with the top off and as you have noticed this one has a great roll bar and bikini top for that purpose. However, it is also nice to know that this one does come with a nice hard top finished in the Silver color that looks great against the Burgundy metallic body. The hard top is in great condition overall and was never used by the gentleman who had it restored. He took it off the day he got it back from restoration and never needed to use it since he only drove it on sunny days. It does have the cardboard headliner which was done in silver to match the rest of the interior. Many of my customers just tell me to keep the hard top because they are not easy to put on and take off as it really takes 4 people to do it without scratching the paint and they take up quite a bit of space when not in use. Once you drive this baby with the top off you will not want to put it back on!! However, it really does look pretty great with it on too.
Complimenting the gorgeous Burgundy and Silver exterior is a beautiful light gray interior. The interior had actually been done prior to the previous owner but still looked great so he only needed to add a few items that were important to him. He added 3 point seat belts for driver and passenger. He also added an amazing sound system that you can really crank up if you enjoy your music and is ideal for you beach and mountain folks as you can drop the tailgate and crank your favorite music. Stock front bucket and rear bench seats were done in a great vinyl and cloth light gray combination. The cloth inserts will be greatly appreciated during those hot summer months! Door panels and rear interior panels were done to match and nice light gray carpeting throughout the interior. Sound deadener was installed under the carpeting so this Bronco rides down the rode nice and quiet inside. Matching visors and wiper cover are installed and can be used with the hard top off off or on thanks to a great bikini top riser that is tall enough to allow you to use the wiper motor cover with the top off. Nice center console with cup holders for front and rear passengers. As you will see this Bronco does have Air conditioning although the belt was not installed after the restoration and the system will need to be charged up. It was working when he got it but he really did not feel the need for it. Dash was painted to match the body and looks great and all of the gauges are working. Original style steering wheel looks like new with no cracks. Overall the interior looks great There is some minor wear on the drivers side arm rest and it could use a nice set of gray floor mats.
n case you are wondering, this Burgundy and Silver Bronco not only looks great but it runs and drives just as well!!! Under the hood you will find a strong, smooth running 351 V8 that was rebuilt prior to the gentleman who did the restoration and is estimated to have about 5000 miles on it since being rebuilt. Smooth shifting C4 Automatic transmission was completely serviced with new seals installed. Power steering makes handling a breeze and the power steering pump and steering linkage was replaced at time of restoration. The front end was completely rebuilt with all new bushings and professionally set up and aligned to handle beautifully. Although this Bronco has a great stance it actually does not have any lift kit on it and as a result is one of the best driving Broncos we have had recently. Stopping is a breeze thanks to the power front disc brakes with new brake booster. She fires up nicely with the new electronic ignition, nicely tuned with new plugs and wires, and runs nice and cool. Nice sounding dual exhaust exiting behind the rear wheels. The exhaust was done prior to the restoration and looks an sounds good but one muffler did have some pin holes that were patched and new flow masters could be added easily if desired. This Bronco is sitting on a beautiful set of Chrome ATX 17x9" wheels wrapped in 265/70/17 Nitto Trail Grappler tires that are close to new. As you can see it also has the matching spare on the original spare tire carrier. This wheel and tire package cost almost $3000 and really looks great in person and the tires ride really nicely. The tire height is about 31" and really give this Bronco a great stance but not too tall. Both fuel tanks were replaced and are working correctly. The undercarriage and floor pans look great with no rust issues. I do have a folder full of receipts from the build that will go with this Bronco. This Bronco truly runs and drives great and is really one of the easiest ones to drive. I drove it about 90 minutes back to my shop the day I bought it and was really impressed. As you will see in the pics the engine bay was nicely detailed and you will be proud to pop the hood at any car show or cruise in.
Make sure you listen to the video that follows the pics to hear this Bronco start up and running!!
