Chevrolet would launch the 3rd generation Camaro to the market
in 1982 which was the first Camaro that incorporated a hatchback
body style. The sporty design quickly caught the attention of the
press with MotorTrend Magazine naming the 1982 Camaro Z28 “Car of
the Year”. The IROC (International Race of Champions) was first
introduced as an option for the Z28 models in 1985. Featuring
upgraded suspension, lowered ride height, stronger sway bars,
unique graphics and the optional Tuned Port Injection system from
the Corvette, the IROC Camaro quickly became a sensation with Car
and Driver naming it one of their “Ten Best” for 1985. The IROC's
Superior performance and handling helped make it one of the
quintessential poster cars of the late 1980’s/early 90’s which are
prized by both enthusiasts and collectors who are known to seek out
