Vehicle Description
It's no accident that Lincoln Town Cars are so strongly linked with
transporting executives to and from their destinations. Combining
tasteful styling, good power and a very smooth ride, it's a car
that just makes you feel important when you're driving it. This
1992 Lincoln Town Car Signature Series, having logged just 10,452
actual miles, is still at the top of its game and ready to provide
that corporate VIP feeling of importance for its next lucky
owner.
The exterior on this Lincoln certainly confers an unmistakable
impression of luxury, but it's understated, as well. While it looks
every inch the luxury sedan that it is, you don't see excess steel,
nor any bulbous curves or disproportionate elements anywhere. It's
easy to see why people of means gravitate towards it. Silver is
great shade for this model - much in keeping with the central theme
of this car, it's the color of choice for countless CEOs and
executives around the country. Those aesthetics are aided further
by the overall condition of the exterior. The paint is showing a
nice even shine from all angles and the window glass remains very
clear everywhere you look. This particular model makes great use of
chrome trim around its circumference and it's in good shape, as
well, with no obvious dings or scratches. Well preserved,
everything looks to be in good alignment, with clean, even gaps
between all the body panels and all four doors opening and closing
very smoothly.
Town Cars are prized for their comfortable and well-appointed
interiors and the silver confines of this Town Car certainly hold
true to that theme. Freshly detailed, it's in great shape, too. The
well-padded silver bench seats in front and back are really
comfortable - you could easily take long excursions and be none the
worse for wear as you arrive at your destination. Slip behind the
driver's seat and take a look at the digital controls mounted on
the wood grain dash and you'll see nice even illumination on all
displays and a dash pad on top that remains level and free of
splits. Just as you would expect, it's equipped with all the luxury
options to make you feel well-looked after, including cruise
control, a tilt-wheel column, power seats, smoothly functioning
power windows and air conditioning that will cool or heat your
occupants through well-situated registers. In back, the amply-sized
trunk area appears untouched, with its spare tire firmly secured in
position and silver carpeting completely unruffled or stained.
There's a 4.6ltr V8 under the hood, a very well-regarded powerplant
that was the go-to 8-cylinder engine for Lincoln literally for
decades. For good reason, too - it's known for providing plenty of
power in a reliable, decidedly unfinicky package. Mated to a
4-speed automatic overdrive transmission, this is a very smooth
performing drivetrain that's equally at home in city driving or
cruising the highway with gas-sparing RPMs. Despite that smooth
ride and whisper-quiet interior, performance and comfort are in
good balance, so this is no mere couch on wheels. You'll find the
power steering to be impressively precise and you won't encounter
much body roll at all when cornering. This luxurious vehicle rides
on a set of 15" stock Lincoln rims, outfitted with Goodyear Regatta
radials.
