Vehicle Description
The Chevrolet Deluxe was introduced in 1941, but for 1951 a new
advertising slogan made popular by Dinah Shore was introduced: "See
the USA in your Chevrolet". An extensive marketing campaign was
seen in print, on TV and heard on radio, with tremendous recall
even today. This 1951 Chevrolet Deluxe Bel Air 2 Door Sedan was
representative of the value leader story from Chevrolet. Priced at
$1,629 the sales of this popular model exceeded a quarter of a
million units. A floor mounted starter pedal and a manual
transmission clutch pedal required the addition of a dash mounted
auxiliary throttle to assist with the fuel during startup. This
vehicle includes the 39 hour wind-up clock.
