For Sale: 1966 Chevrolet Nova Chevy II Wagon in Lutz, Florida
We love Novas because they have a sleeper style that can still fit
serious power under the hood. So it only gets amplified on a cool
custom wagon like this 1966 Chevy II Nova. Because while others
enjoy the surf wagon looks, you'll be passing them all with small
block power and four-on-the-floor.
Turning grocery-getters into go-fast machines is an art. And we
love it rendered in a shade like this that's close to Chevy's
Lemonwood Yellow. A more modern application means you get plenty of
gloss and shine, but the understated color lets the hardware
underneath do all the talking. Then again, this one does leave a
few extra hints at its performance nature with the cowl hood, Super
Sport badging on every side, and 15-inch American Racing Torq
Thrust wheels. But really, we just think people will be drawn to
the bright chrome bumpers and cool surf wagon-style stickers. It
lures them closer before the rumble of the exhaust scares them
away.
The black interior is nicely customized starting with a set of
comfortable cloth bucket seats with a cup holder armrest for long
haul usability. The rear keeps a nod to the family hauler past by
retaining the full width bench. Because this is a car you'll want
to share with family and friends, there are features to keep them
entertained like an AM/FM/CD stereo and cold air conditioning. But
the best treats are reserved just for you. The dual-spoke sports
steering wheel gives you a clear view of the auxiliary gauges and
the large tach. Plus, the cool flaming dice topper is your gateway
to the performance stick shift.
While there have been plenty of great new features on this car, we
know the engine bay holds your favorite upgrade. Novas are great
because this is where Chevrolet learned how to drop V8 power into a
small package. In '66 the largest motor available was a 327
cubic-inch small block. This wagon pays tribute that history, but
it takes advantages of plenty of modern performance upgrades, too.
This includes a four-barrel carburetor, performance intake,
aluminum radiator, and a set of headers that add power as they
contribute to the rumble of the dual exhaust. Best of all, you have
complete control over the V8 and its growl thanks to the four-speed
manual transmission. Plus, with a sway bar and disc brakes up front
as well as traction bars in the rear, this surf wagon has the right
equipment to always be the first one at the beach.
This is the perfect sensible and affordable classic. After all,
you'll convince everyone that you bought a versatile family vehicle
with plenty of cargo space. But really it's the small block power
and stick-shift that sold you. Since you're not the only one who
would like to disguise a dream car as a practical classic, you
should hurry and call today!
