For Sale: 1966 Ford Thunderbird in Rancho Cucamonga, California

Vehicle Description

1966 Ford Thunderbird Landau. Restored 5 years ago by my daughter and I for her. There are currently about 5100 miles on the rebuilt original 390 V-8 engine and transmission.  The front coil springs have been replaced with a RideTech Air-Over-Coil fully adjustable front suspension. This is mainly because we couldn't find anyone to mount the new coil springs (and after having one almost take my head off I wasn't going to do it) but I must admit I like being able to lower the ride height some. In addition to replacing all the front bushings, tie rod ends and the steering box, we installed a larger sway bay to eliminated some of the "body roll". The 66's have a swing away steering wheel, front disk brakes, power windows, locks and driver's seat and the signature sequential tail lights.

I am a bit of a geek so to make it a true "one-of-a-kind" I created a blue LED digital speedometer, clock and heater fascia that replicate the stock ones in a more modern look (all the original pieces have been retained).  We replaced all the vacuum lines but decided to replace the door lock vacuum servos with an electric remote system.

The A/C has been changed to a Sanden rotary compressor, the ignition is now electronic and the carburetor is an Eldebrock with the endurashine finish. A chrome 150 alternator has also been added.  In addition to new pipes, the stock mufflers have been replaced with MagnaFlow mufflers with chrome tips. There is new upholstery pretty much throughout (with the exception of the dash which I can't seem to find), the center console and the headliner and new carpets and mats.

The original radio is still in the car but the sound comes from a "SecretAudioSST".  The receiver is mounted under the passenger seat.  The controls are mounted in the ashtray compartment. An amplifier is mounted in the trunk.  There are 2 speakers that have been mounted in the upper quarter trim panels and one on each of the front door trim panels.  The tires are Nexxen 245/45 ZR18 on 18 inch Boss Mothorsports Wheels. This combination makes the total circumference very close to stock so the tires only rub when at "full lock" with the car lowered.

Things that included but aren't on the car: All the original dash gauges, New front coil springs, new rear leaf springs & bushings, original hub caps, fender skirts, door trim, rubber floor mats most of the old parts that were replaced...

We are no longer driving the car and with it in the garage (covered with a car cover) and my new truck baking outside in the sun, it's time to part with her.

Just added undercarriage pictures and noticed that the date is wrong.  These pictures were taken 4/16/2018
