Crate Engine 480Hp LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1970
Ford Mustang BOSS 302 Resto-Mod Ford's performance machine, the
Boss 302, was a direct competitor to Chevrolet's Camaro Z/28, as it
offered more performance on a reduced-weight chassis. It proved its
worth on the track, winning the SCCA's 1970 Trans-Am racing series,
and it was quite popular in the showroom as it offered customers a
vehicle that was just as comfortable on the road as it was on the
track. For 1970, the Boss 302 was fitted with hockey-stick side
stripes, and the base model 1970 grille that replaced outer
headlights with horizontal vents. Along with the exterior
modifications came changes to the chassis and suspension including
standard disc front brakes, heavier sway bars, spindles, and shock
towers. The solid-lifter 302 cubic inch engine was rated at 290
horsepower and backed by the standard Four Speed transmission which
was the perfect package to compete in SCCA Trans-Am racing. This
factory "G" code BOSS 302 was delivered to Wray Bros Ford in Van
Nuys, California on October 31 st ,1969. It received a documented
rotisserie restoration and was finish in factory Bright Yellow with
black livery. The interior was updated with Autometer gauge cluster
and Black Leather racing seats while the rest of the interior is
factory. It has been modified from its original configuration to
bring its handling and power up to modern standards. Under the hood
is a Ford 392 cubic inch small block that puts out a healthy 480hp
and is topped with FAST fuel injection which allows the engine to
have better drivability characteristics. This stout engine combo is
backed by a Road Race Spec Tremec TKO 5 Speed transmission with a 5
th gear overdrive for better highway cruising. The suspension has
been upgraded with a Total Control front suspension and Phase Z
Watts Link rear setup. The factory 9-inch differential has been
beefed up with Moser axles to handle the added horsepower. Rack and
Pinion steering has been added to increase road feel and steering
response. It was fitted with 17inch MiniLite wheels which pay
homage to the Trans Am racers and are wrapped in BF Goodrich tires.
This factory built 1970 BOSS 302 is the perfect balance of classic
looks with modern performance. It handles better than it left the
assembly line in 1970, while retaining the looks that made us fall
in love with the original BOSS 302. This BOSS 302 would be the
perfect car for any Ford Motorsports enthusiast that loves to drive
their cars. Don't miss the opportunity to add this beautiful 1970
