For sale is a 1985 Corvette.
This is not a typical 85 Corvette. This vehicle has been transformed into a phenomenal machine.
Virtually every nut, bolt and washer was removed and replaced with new hardware. Nearly every part in or on this car has been replaced, upgraded or modified. The build took eight years to complete because it was done slowly and meticulously; the builder is a perfectionist.
No expense was spared and no inferior parts were used. Only top-of-the-line name brand parts were used throughout the build. You’ll be hard-pressed to find anything in or on this vehicle that has not either been replaced or modified. The list below speaks for itself.
Chris Petris, the builder of this Corvette worked with John Greenwood at Ecklers. John is well known in the C4 circle and Chris is well known in the Corvette industry. Chris is renowned for being an exceptional builder of all model Corvettes.
I have every receipt and the massive mound of paperwork will accompany the vehicle. I estimate I spent approximately $75,000 on this build!
The vehicle has never been raced. The cam locks and roll bar are there for aesthetics. The car is a rocket, reliable, and a blast to drive. The mileage showing on the new odometer shows a bit over 3,600.
The original Atari style dash gauges were replaced with nine new AutoMeter gauges for the tachometer, speedometer, fuel level, volts, water temperature, oil pressure, oil temperature, fuel pressure and air/fuel mixture.
Every item on this vehicle works! Every component, motor, relay, etc. works flawlessly. Very often with modified vehicles and/or vehicles with high horsepower and modified exhaust systems you cannot escape drone. Any of you who have experienced this knows how uncomfortable it can be. This vehicle produces zero drone. All you hear is the rumble of the Corsa exhaust and Lingenfelter hydraulic roller cam. The multiple layers of sound deadening (FatMat, QuietCar [for the doors] and DynoMat) block extraneous exterior sounds.
The vehicle is currently insured for $60,000 as a collector vehicle because it is driven sparingly. I’m asking just $36,000 for this car and I believe that to be a bargain. Yes, you can purchase a ‘85 Corvette for under $10,000 but it will be a 32-year-old bucket — not a top-to-bottom rebuilt rocket!
If you want a unique Corvette unlike any other, look no more. This car has it all. It has power windows, brakes, steering, cruise, 500 HP on tap, made to run on premium but race gas can be used (the car likes it but it’s not necessary), a removable top, shifts quietly and smoothly, the car has 2 separate alarms - (theft/deterrent systems) and sounds mean as hell. It’s not obnoxiously loud but your neighbor will know when you’re arriving or leaving your home, especially if you give it more gas than necessary.
One glance at the list below will reveal the extent of the build. See for yourself how much money was spent and read of the name brand parts that were utilized throughout.
