For Sale: 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle in Macedonia, Ohio

Vehicle Description

Fresh restoration with almost entirely new components throughout. Beautiful new sheetmetal and paint, new interior, killer ZZ502 crate motor, TH400, coil-over suspension, 4-wheel disc brakes. Fast and sorted, ready to rock!

That's right, all the sheetmetal on this car is new and it was expertly done by guys who know their stuff. New quarter panels were welded into place, new doors were sourced, they found a set of NOS front fenders, and added a cowl-induction hood. Even the trunk lid is brand new. Once it was all in place, they lined it up just right and then covered it in a gleaming coat of Marina Blue paint, a popular color that seems to work better on Chevelles than just about anything else. On top of that, they added reproduction Yenko decals, including the "sYc" on the hood, which stands for "Yenko Super Car." Dig how neat the gaps are, the straightness of the sheetmetal, and the wicked stance. And for those of you concerned about rust, we're pretty sure there's none here to worry about—no patches, no bondo, not even any high-build primer to cover up old flaws. That's why working with fresh metal is so awesome. Even the trim, lenses, and bumpers are brand new.

In the same way, the interior is entirely new, too. Factory buckets wear fresh seat covers, there are proper carpets on the floor and standard door panels were installed to keep it correct. The only non-stock pieces are that handsome wood-rimmed steering wheel, a set of Auto Meter gauges, and the B&M shifter on the floor, but those are all dedicated to going faster, so it's an easy sin to forgive. Those handsome Ultra-Lite gauges were installed in a custom panel that replaces the original dash, and includes indicators for turn signals and high-beams, so it is at least as functional as the original setup and definitely more accurate. Oh, and all the weather seals and glass are new, too, so it seals up tight and doesn't have any squeaks and rattles. This sucker is solid! Of course, the back seat has never been used and the trunk is just a reproduction mat away from being OEM-spec.

The engine is a GM crate ZZ502, which means 502 cubic inches, 508 horsepower, and 580 pounds of torque. It's obviously a neat fit in the Chevelle's engine bay, since it was designed to live there, and it offers plenty of upgrades that they never imagined in 1969. Inside there's a steel crank and rods, plus forged aluminum pistons, all topped by a set of oval-port aluminum heads that shave precious pounds off the nose of the car. There's a roller cam inside as well and it's topped by an Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum intake and a giant 870 CFM Holley 4-barrel carburetor. It's lit up by a factory HEI distributor and runs a pump-gas-friendly 9.6:1 compression ratio. There's a giant aluminum radiator up front that's cooled by an engine-driven fan, so it never even acts like it's going to get too hot. And again, it's 100% new, meaning new wiring harness, new fuel and water pumps, new alternator, and even new inner fenders. And yes, you're seeing the odometer correctly—it has only 5 miles on it. Yes FIVE. Do you understand what NEW means?

Underneath, same story. It's got a trick tubular A-arm front suspension with adjustable QA1 coil-over shocks, so you can adjust the ride height just right. The TH400 3-speed automatic transmission is fresh, too, and seems to ignore the 580 pounds of torque churning through it. New ceramic-coated long-tube headers feed a new Flowmaster dual exhaust system, so it sounds suitably wicked but remains calm on the open road. Out back it takes a bit of a turn, using a custom-built Ford 9-inch from Moser Engineering, which was filled with 3.73 gears on a limited slip and with Wilwood disc brakes hanging on each end. It also has heavy-duty control arms, more QA1 coil-over adjustable shocks, and a new gas tank hanging in back. It's been tuned, tested, and is ready to rock, with very high-quality hardware used throughout. Even those polished aluminum Centerline wheels and tires are brand new.

The hardware alone on this car cost more than the asking price for the finished product. And if you don't like the drag-strip look, use those adjustable coil-overs to your advantage—slam it, put on a set of 18- and 20-inch wheels, and go with the Pro-Touring look. It'll take you an hour to totally change the car's personality without spending a fortune (ask us about getting any changes done before the car ships—we install a lot of custom wheels and tires!).

It should be obvious that we're quite impressed by this car. It's built right and while there's no pedigree, who cares? Nasty fast, beautifully finished, and impressive in just about every way, this Chevelle proves that there's more than one way to have fun with an old car. Call today!
