For Sale: 1987 GMC Jimmy in Conroe, Texas

Vehicle Description

1987 GMC Jimmy(4WD): While Jeep, International, and Ford had been making small off-road-oriented but decidedly on-road used multi-purpose vehicles, it was GM who super-sized them to the half-ton pickup platform. Essentially a K-10 pickup with a very short integral box as part of the interior, the GMC Jimmy pioneered the pickup-based SUV. While retaining the stock pickup doors, the standard top was made out of fiberglass and could be unbolted. The Jimmy was also available without a top or with a vinyl soft top, but the hard top was by far the most popular choice. All Blazers had a tailgate/lift gate configuration in the back. The Jimmy proved successful enough that when GM redesigned their trucks for 1973, the Blazer was part of the program. For the second generation Chevrolet Blazer the top was abbreviated, just covering the rear section aft of the cab. The Jimmy had been successful enough for GM that the same basic design of 1973 lasted all the way until 1991.

We search the US daily for the very best classic trucks and SUVs available. Kind of like what led you to this ad ... except we do it 50+ hours a week. Our diligence landed this exceptional 1 owner GMC Jimmy into our inventory last month and we think it will make the next owner extremely proud. Not only has this classic SUV been in the same CA home since new, it has also seen less than 59k miles since its original purchase. It did spend some driveway time in the CA sun so the top was slightly faded. Upon arrival to TX, everything above the red pinstripe was professionally repainted. So in addition to a great history and pristine condition, this Jimmy features both the Sierra Classic package and the highly desirable 5.7 fuel injected engine. Still looking for excuses not to buy this Jimmy? Ok, we'll make it harder .. everything works like it should, the A/C blows cold, it has been recently serviced, and it looks great top-less! Have any questions about the Jimmy's collectability? It is widely know that the 80's vehicles are quickly gaining strength as the most highly desired classics by the current generations. The experts at Hagerty are onboard with market trends and have a current valuation of $30,500. Kelly Blue Book is slightly modest with a current valuation of only $22,876 (as optioned). Now ask yourself how much you will be spending to attain the same vehicle in 5 years? Our prediction is almost double. Features and options on this GMC include; 5.7L TBI, Auto, 4x4, A/C, Power Steering & Brakes, Bucket Seats, Power Windows & Locks, Cruise Control, Factory AM/FM/Cassette, Center Console Storage, Dash Pad, Rubber Floormats, Tinted Windows, Tilt Steering, Removable Top, Chrome Bumpers & Mirrors, DeeZee Running Boards, Tow Package, Tire Tools, Full Spare (w/ cover), 15" Rally Wheels, and thick All-Terrain Radial Tires!
