There is something very alluring about the clean, chiseled lines of the mid-1960s Oldsmobiles. After the fins and frills turned out by Detroit engineers in the 1950s, the restrained, yet elegant, designs of the 1960s represented a new era in automotive styling. Adorned by just the right amount of chrome, their lines speak for themselves without excess ornamentation.
If this type of styling appeals to you, you will love this fully restored 1963 Oldsmobile F-85 Cutlass Convertible. Finished in Midnight Mist Metallic with a beautifully contrasting Light Blue vinyl interior, this striking color combination further accentuates its understated lines. Its newer finish has a beautiful luster, as does its chrome and brightwork, all of which is in excellent condition. Chrome wheels, white wall tires, and a new Black convertible top complete the look.
The inside of this Cutlass is equally impressive, featuring bucket seats in Light Blue vinyl and a center console. The dashboard, interior door panels, seating areas, and carpeting are all in excellent condition. You’ll also appreciate this car’s full battery of Sunpro auxiliary gauges, including a console-mounted tachometer. Other features of note are its updated AM/FM radio, power antenna, trunk-mounted CD player, factory power trunk release, and power convertible top.
Under the hood you will find a neatly detailed engine compartment housing the original 215 CID V-8 engine mated to the original 3-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. The engine and transmission were professional rebuilt approximately 5,000 miles ago. The carburetor has been upgraded with an Edelbrock 500 CFM 4-barrel, but the original carburetor will be included with sale. Its optional power steering will keep you firmly in control at the helm, and its new dual exhaust system will reward you with a satisfying rumble. Having just 59,500 original miles, this classic was awarded “Best Preserved” car at the 2016 Old Tavern Classic Car show.
One item of note is that the cigarette lighter and clock are not currently functioning. The original owner’s manual, photocopy of the original bill of sale, and restoration records and invoices will be included with sale.
If a beautifully restored mid-60s convertible is what you desire, this Cutlass is the one for you!
