Vehicle Description
We just purchased this 1949 Hudson from a Museum in Southern
Oregon. Due to a Capital improvement call for renovation work, we
lucked out securing a pretty cool piece of local history. The car
was originally owned by a fighter pilot in the Korean War. The
family stored the vehicle for over 40 years, before a Doctor bought
it and donated it to the Museum. My Daughter and I first saw it 4
years ago while picking up a 1919 Speedster we bought from them. I
knew then, the history alone was cool, yet the look of it was too
much to resist. Every year, I have tried and failed to purchase
this car. This was our lucky week! The body had been in the process
of being block sanded and prepped for paint. The engine/car has
24,435k documented miles on it. We have the original window
sticker, bill of sales, financing papers, work orders, service
records, etc. Everything that came with the car, to the Bill of
sale from when we bought it, is in our possession. The engines are
built like tanks (not to mention the car) The 254.5 ci/128 hp 6
cylinder was considered fast at the time. The 3 speed manual 3 on
the tree helped propel it down the road very nicely. The interior
has held up pretty good. Moisture from storage had something to do
with the door panels warping a bit. They are intact enough to use
as templates. The seats are in rather good shape considering the
age. The wiring for ignition has all been redone by the museum.
Right now, the car runs and drives down the road nicely. As with all
our shop cars, a plan for restoration will be put in place and
executed. Since block sanding has begun, we will continue with that
in the areas the Museum was working. A coat if black prime will be
sprayed to protect the metal. We will also consider all reasonable
offers, contact Jim at 206-406-1313 if your interested.FREE
