This is a detailed oriented car-owner's dream. As you can see by the pictures, this is not your normal VW. It is in like new condition. Paint is truly show quality. The undercarriage is rust free as is the rest of the car. Drive it every day or show it, it's up to you, but you get to start with a new looking bug!

All gauges work, clean metal with NO rust, new paint, new convertible top, conv cover, and interior. Dashpad, knobs, etc. all replaced and in beautiful condition with no issues.  Battery shutoff behind drivers seat.

Heat blows good through both front floor vents and both rear seat vents!

Chrome in excellent condition. New Tires and polished aluminum rims. New disk brakes up front and new drum setup in rear.  Any rust was cut out and replaced - NO RUST anywhere.  Nothing to show it's original miles so 'mileage exempt'.

Specs

  • Engine is O4 1585 cc | 96.7 cu in. | 1.6 L
  • 4 Speed Manual Transmission with tight H Pattern.
  • First year for rack and pinion steering.
  • Total 1975 VW Beetles produced - 441,116 (hardtop and conv)
  • Torsion bars adjusted to be 1/2" above normal ride height.  Can be readjusted to normal or lower than normal ride height per normal change procedure.

The spare tire is the original spare (dated 1974 actually) but on a new rim.  The surprise was that there was no corrosion or issues in moving it to a new rim even due to its age.  I wouldn't use it as an actual spare but the collector in me had to keep it.

** Original owners manual (missing cover) along with original VW Warranty Voucher - Noted with VIN, sale dated June 13, 1975, and with dealer documented stamp for "Lee Killinger VW Inc, 5121 Northwest Highway, Chicago ILL."

This car has been driven on nice nights and weekends but is garaged and under a car cover since restoration - It has never been driven in rain since being restored.

Awards: 2017 Spring - Charlotte Auto Fair in NC - awarded the 'Most Detailed' award (over 2000 cars!).

Additional vehicle Info:

  • EMPI dual carb setup.
  • More efficient electric fuel pump installed to replace standard manual pump.
  • Original color was Lagune Blue prior to the full restoration.

Under Salvage title due minor accident by previous owner in NC prior to restoration.  'Salvaged' due to low value of unrestored bugs (faded paint, old interior, etc). NO frame or suspension damage as you can see by pictures and lower pan. Drives straight, true and smooth. Pictures of restoration go with the car. Based on a question I received - Vehicle is fully titled and registered in SC with NO restrictions. Title transfer is simply by signing back over to new buyer as with any SC title.
