Vehicle Description
The Porsche Boxster is a mid-engined two-seater roadster built by
Porsche. The Boxster is Porsche's first road vehicle to be
originally designed as a roadster since the 550 Spyder.
Hidden within the new Boxster S's midsection is a 295-hp, 3.4-liter
flat-six and 251 pound-feet of torque. The Boxster S ran from 0 to
60 mph in 4.9 seconds and through the quarter-mile in 13.4 seconds
at 107 mph. The 2007 Boxster S can run all the way up to a
drag-limited 169 mph.
The Boxster's steering, performance disc brakes, alloy mag wheels,
and handling all remain undisturbed and as pure as they've ever
been and make it one of the best handling cars of the year.
The 2007 Porsche Boxter S we have at Skyway Classics is one of the
stiffest roadsters around. Drive it over train tracks with the top
down and the cowl barely seems to shift.
With modest-size trunks both front and rear, the Boxster S will
carry enough luggage for two over a long weekend. It's also
luxuriously appointed with well-shaped and heated seats, power and
leather-wrapped everything.
With the top down, the wind doesn't so much intrude upon the
cockpit as wrap around it. And the lack of anything between the
driver and the exhaust system means this engine's glorious voice is
more vivid than in any other Porsche.
Even before options, the Boxster S was listed at $56,295 and
options could take it up to over $64,805. But ours at Skyway
Classics comes in at a fraction of that list price.
