1979 Pontiac Trans Am Silver Anniversary 4 sp. This is the best of the best when it comes to the Silver Anniversary Trans Am. This beauty has the highly desired numbers matching Pontiac 400ci engine mated to the original 4 speed transmission. The automatic cars came with the Oldsmobile 403ci engine. This is one of only 1,817 four speed cars produced. The paint is in very good shape with only a few minor rock chips. The body is very straight and shows no signs of damage. It has been repainted but the paint is phenomenal. Whoever painted this car knew exactly what they were doing. I met an old Pontiac body man that specialized in Trans Am's back in the 80's at a local car show recently. I asked him to look the car over for authenticity. He looked over the car and said that the paint and body alignment is better than when these cars came from the factory. He was very impressed.
The engine compartment is spotless. The odometer reads 65,000 miles. The previous owner was extremely meticulous and employed a local shop to go through the engine and transmission, having them freshen everything up, but keeping it at factory specifications, just because he wanted the car to be perfect. There is less than 1,000 miles on the new, still numbers matching, engine and transmission. I have the receipts for the work performed. The air conditioner blows cold and has a new compressor (134a). The interior hosts all original carpet and panels. There are no holes cut out for speakers, which was common for these cars back in the day. The original 8 track player and power antenna are still in the car and operable. Everything on this car works except for the clock. This is a very well maintained 10th Anniversary Trans Am that keeps appreciating in value. Priced to sell at $31,000.
