Vehicle Description
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1947 Ford Pick up for
consideration. Known as the predecessor to the F1, Civilian truck
production ceased during WWII and was re-introduced again in 1946
ad the "New Ford Pick up" while in reality the trucks remained
largely the same as pre-war production. The trucks highlights were
optional 6 cylinder engine for economical stop and go driving,
Truck-type frame, side mounted springs, three-quarter-floating rear
axle with staddle mounted pinion and 4-poinion differential. The
box featured 45 cubic feet of load space and was hailed for the
ability to haul 4-foot units of plywood or plaster board.
The 1947 Ford Pickup offered here is a tidy example that has been
given a selective ground up style restoration. The truck is
finished in deep glossy red exterior paint over black interior. The
interior features freshened painted surfaces, new bench seat, new
rubber floor, new headlining, and stylish 8 ball shifter knob. The
truck is powered by its flat head inline 6 cylinder engine, 3 speed
manual transmission with reverse and rear wheel drive. The chrome
and exterior trim are excellent and the bed has been rhino lined so
it can be used as a truck. The truck runs and drives great and
receives many looks and compliments wherever it is driven.
Vintage trucks are hot right now and quality usable examples such
as this are in high demand. It will not last long on our floor at
this price.
