It probably started all because of the durability of the body panels that they used which were extensively galvanized sheet metal that fought corrosion. The sixth generation of these trucks are also becoming highly desirable amongst enthusiasts and collectors alike. This last year Custom is one of the nicest from top to bottom trucks I have seen. Yes, it has been re-painted but this truck spent almost its entire life in the Carolinas and Virginia with zero rust ever. It is equipped with the very popular 302 V8 that starts on a dime and goes down the road like it is brand new. The paint is top quality and interior is like new. All brand new tires and brakes. This Custom truly speaks for itself and looks as good in the pictures as it does in person. Furthermore you hardly ever see the 8' stepside version. It would cost you double the asking price to build this truck, provided you could find a clean one to start.
