Plymouth Barracuda. 1964 was the first year of the Cuda and the
model lasted until 1974. The runaway success of the mid 1964 Ford
Mustang made Plymouth respond with their own creation, The
Barracuda. The most noticeable feature of the 64 Cuda is the
oversized wraparound rear window that really gives this car a
unique. Originally equipped with a 273 CiD V8, this Cuda now has a
slightly modified larger 318 CiD V8 that has a bunch of goodies on
it. The engine still features the 273 cylinder heads with solid
lifters, it has a high rise Edlebrock intake with a 570 cfm Holley
street avenger carburetor, some sweet long tube polished headers
that lead to a new dual SS X-pipe exhaust that gives this car a
very nice sound. It also features an HEI electronic ignition system
so you can rest easy this baby will start. The car has had the
front end suspension rebuilt to make the ride quality much better.
A large multicore aluminum radiator with electric fans keeps that
small block nice & cool no matter how you are driving it. Matched
to the 318 is a 4-speed manual transmission that shifts smoothly &
firm through the gears and makes the car fun to drive. The exterior
of the car is in pristine condition and shows very well. The car
was originally black from the factory and has all the original
sheet metal & glass. The owner painted it a few years ago in 2002
Dodge Viper Red and I must say it looks sweet. This car out in the
sunshine really puts our pictures to shame, you have to see how
nice this car is. The exterior trim, bumpers, grill, headlight
bezels, & glass are in like new condition. The body panel gaps are
even, the doors, hood, & trunk all open & close with ease. The car
sits on a set of very nice looking 17-inch torque thrust wheels
that look brand new & are wrapped in Kumho tires that have plenty
of life in them. You'll also notice the Wilwood disc brake upgrade
in the front that make the car more streetable. Getting into the
car you will see a nice contrasting black vinyl interior that is
all new. New seats, new carpet, new headliner, dashboard, armrest,
gauge cluster, & more! The all new interior really puts the cherry
on top of this muscle car sundae. The manual trans features a Hurst
shifter with matching steering wheel. You notice a nice under dash
AC unit that blows very cold and the system has been upgraded to a
new more efficient R134a system. The car was originally an AC car
from the factory. The trunk has been completely customized a nice
Rockford Fosgate sound system with (2) 10" R2 subwoofers & (2) 6x9
full range speakers that are powered by a nice sized all in one
amplifier. When that bass bounces off the back hatch, you'd better
believe your nose is gonna tickle. The car is a multiple award
winner throughout many shows it has been in, including the latest
Concours D'elegance. The fit & finish on the car is second to none
and a lot of time & money has gone into the build. The owner has
the original window sticker and factory build sheet with the car.
