For Sale: 1977 International Super Scout in Atlanta, Georgia
Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1977 International
Harvester Super Scout (SS2), a restored truck with a great look
finished in Matte Orange. To more directly compete with the
open-air Jeep CJ (available without doors and a top), in the late
1970s International Harvester introduced a roadster version of the
Scout II - the Super Scout II (or SS2). A factory-built SS2 is rare
- out of more than 120,000 Scout IIs produced from 1977 to 1979,
only around 4,000 were SS2s. The SS2-specific VIN confirms this to
be the genuine article.
This example is very straight and solid with matte-finish orange
paint and the correct, original-style SS2 graphics package. Brand
new soft top and soft door skins. New BF Goodrich 33x12.50 all
terrains on 15-inch Mickey Thompson wheels. Nice interior with new
seat upholstery; roll bar, rallye steering wheel, dash pad and
center console in excellent original condition.
All gauges, lights and indicators are working and a modern
RetroSound stereo is fitted in the original dash opening.
Under the hood is a 345 cubic inch V8 mated to an automatic
transmission; the truck was also optioned with power steering and
power disk brakes. Runs and drives well. Very nicely detailed
engine compartment and undercarriage with no known rust.
Extensive service records with thousands in receipts, plus original
window sticker, factory line-setting ticket, owner's manual
(including SSII supplements) and period sales literature.
