The Chevrolet Malibu was named after the city of Malibu, CA and
began in 1964 as a trim-level for the Chevrolet Chevelle. It did
not become a stand-alone model line until 1978. The Malibu and all
other Chevelles were completely restyled in 1968 with semi-fastback
rooflines. Inside was an instrument panel that featured round
gauges set in square pods, similar to what would appear in the
Camaro line the following year. This gorgeous 1968 Malibu has been
treated to a frame-off restoration and badged as a Chevelle SS
Tribute. Power is not lacking here and features a 454ci V-8 with a
mild cam mated to a rebuilt Chevy 350 THM transmission. The owner
states 500 miles since the rebuild. New sheet metal can be found in
the trunk, floor pans, quarters, door shells, front fenders and
hood. The interior has been tastefully redone in black vinyl and
complements the DuPont Aqua base & clearcoat exterior quite well.
Additional features include power steering, power front disc brakes
and AM/FM radio. This stunning 1968 Chevrolet Malibu / Chevelle SS
Trubute is located at our Milwaukee showroom. You can view this
