This great Chrysler sedan received a complete restoration in
2007/2008. The work was done by B and T Custom Rod and Restoration
here in Reno. Over $70k was invested in the car between the
original purchase and all the subsequent work it received (new
paint, upholstery, motor, braking system, suspension, electrical,
chrome plating... The works). All original receipts are intact from
the time the car was purchased by the current owners in 2007. Since
then the Chrysler has participated in various car shows and won
multiple awards. It is garage-kept and has less than 500 miles on
it since its restoration.
Mechanical- There are no known issues with the car; it drives well
and does everything it should. All gauges, knobs, lights and such
work. The Mopar 360 c.i. engine runs great and has a deep, throaty
exhaust note through its twin-exhaust. The disc brakes are powerful
and fully up to the task of stopping the car at any speed. Steering
is smooth and consistent and the suspension is tight, without
creaks or other issues. The original side panels for the front
cowling come with the car but aren't installed. The owners noted
that they left them off so the engine would cool better. The panels
were restored at the same time as the car and are the same
color.
Cosmetics- The paint job was very expensive and for the most part
looks it. There are minor blemishes and a few imperfections, but
nothing serious. The paint is still bright with no signs of
oxidation or UV damage. The car spends 99.5% of its time in its
garage so it looks pretty much the same as the day it rolled out of
the restoration shop.
The engine is clean and bright. Honestly, it looks fantastic. It
really doesn't need anything to be its best. Great work.
The interior is very nice with no issues or problems. The
upholstery is stunning; both well done and clean as a whistle. The
same goes for the headliner. The gauges are clean, the glass is
clear and the carpet looks new. Overall, the interior is just about
as perfect as you could hope to find. It's also comfortable,
something that doesn't always come with a new upholstery job.
Interior-wise the car is really nice to sit in and drive.
Price: To determine fair market value the car was professionally
appraised in September, 2017. The appraised fair-market
value
(not replacement value, which is much higher) came in at $39,200.
