For Sale: 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS in McKinney, Texas

Vehicle Description

1967 Camaro RS Convertible that is an absolutely gorgeous Bolero Red spectacular restoration by a GM dealer as his personal car. It is an exceptionally well documented Camaro with the original Protect-O-Plate, Original Owner’s Manual and other documentation including original broadcast sheet. The vehicle has a full body and under chassis preparation, all original metal, up rated factory steel cowl induction hood, rear trunk spoiler, front spoiler, a very strong and smooth numbers matching 327cid/4V engine as verified by said documents. The car has up rated better than factory build dual aluminized exhausts, numbers matching rebuilt Powerglide with numbers matching rear end, hard to do working factory GM air conditioning, full braking, front power disc brakes, new rears, factory power steering, great full black interior, a factory console, and new Black factory power top. Not to mention, new rally wheels, red line radial tires, full suspension, great chrome, bumper guards, really fantastic mechanicals, ready to be displayed, shown, and certainly driven!

History: This particular car was first purchased by a D. Webber on June 10th of 1967 from Reedman Motors in Langhorne, PA, who owned it and drove it, putting on the first 92,000 miles. It was then sold to a dealer, who then sold it to a North Carolina Chevrolet dealer, to be the lead car in his collection. Even though he had work done by his own shop and ran said expenses through, there are $17,663 in receipts in the file that are only part of the project. Said collector told the writer that he had over $68,500 in this full build.

It was then sold it to Frazer Dante, a classic car dealership in Roswell, GA owned by Tom and Tevie Fraser. Once acquired by Fraser Dante, the top Senior GM tech did a full tune, and he is ‘of the era’ and expert in these engine from his Chevrolet background. Prior to delivery to the current owner in April 2015, all fluids and spark plugs with wires, as well as all brake pads and shoes, brake lines, and front calipers were replaced. The final setting by Fraser Dante, new shocks, tie rod ends, ball joints, control arms and bushings throughout.

Engine and Drive Train: This Camaro has the original engine with proper stampings as shown in the Protect-o-plate, it reads TO509MM, which indicates it was assembled on May 9th of 1967, which is confirmed by the examination of front stampings and the casting numbers showing the fine of this car. The Transmission was assembled on May 12th, and the Rear end was assembled on May 15th of 1967. The final assembly, according to the Cowl Tag, was done in the 4th week of May, and the car was delivered to Pennsylvania where it was sold on June 10th 1967. The date code of the block is before the build of car as well as the stamping on the front pad to match the build date of the car for the pad, which is all confirmed by the protect-o-plate and the stampings found throughout the car. In addition those key components, this Camaro has an original rebuilt Rochestor Carburator, as well as the original full ignition system with original 1967 Key Blanks. It does have new full aluminized dual exhaust system, and new mufflers, but done to original specs to preserve the original sound we would expect from a 1967 Camaro.

Body/paint: All original metal, with the exception of the Cowl Induction hood and rear spoiler. The sides of the car are extremely straight as the body work is really exceptional, and in order to get this paint color pretty exacting, a modern base coat/clear coat is used to get an amazing luster. The color is a newer Corvette color in order to get the shine that will last and be virtually the same 1967 Bolero Red color. See the cross hood front accent black band striping is as factory with the code of that is carefully applied, and the under chassis is stock and in show condition.

Accents like the lower body rocker stainless moldings that are as factory, the rear taillight bezels are in show condition, dual outside mirrors complete the chrome package . It shows in the receipts that the original front and rear bumbers were re-chromed, and the car has both front and rear bumper guards.

Lights/running: Great effort was expended to make sure all the lights work, even the RS headlights work very quickly, brake lights and headlights work, even has the rear backup lights.

The wheels are new Rally wheels in the proper argent color, trim rings, lug nuts, the tires are new expensive Coker Classic 205/75/15 radial red lines, these look stock and make the car handle better than new, the springs are new along with the new shocks as the ‘attitude’ of the car is so even, with a solid, rust free, under chassis.

Interior: Fully restored black bucket seated interior with buckets with new padding and full covers, black dash pad, this has the original am Camaro radio with a new higher rated speaker in the proper place in the dash, as well as a hidden bluetooth system with amp to get great sound, but allow the car to look 100% original. It has four correct safety belts, even the brake pedal and the accelerator have attention to detail as the new rubber with the chrome surround and marked correctly, and although the car has a new wooden steering wheel, the original steering wheel remains with the car.

Summary: This is a spectacular, rare to find, well documented, so exacting a 1967 Camaro RS convertible in driven show condition. I could add more, but there is no reason, it is that great, you need to come see how beautiful this car is for yourself!
