This is a 1959 VW Kombi in Dove Blue with less than 53,000 miles. The engine and clutch were rebuilt about 1,000 miles ago by a VW shop. It is not the original engine. The bus was originally from New Mexico (there is still a sticker on the windshield).
The bus went from the original owner to family. I got it from them. The family had some work done on it including patching the cargo area floor, replacing the outer rocker panels, paint job, interior, and engine rebuild. It needs inner rocker panels and all 4 jack points replaced. The frame is very solid.
The bus looks like new in the front area including doglegs, front floor, etc. The rear area including battery box, etc. also look great and both areas look original to me. The dash and steering wheel look fantastic. The dash and surrounding area are original paint as well as door jambs. This was a radio delete bus and I have the original dove blue dash cover plate. The radio is AM only and was never connected. I have an original speaker bracket that is not installed. I also have the original outside driver's side mirror. The middle seat is not original. The bracket that holds the engine cover open came off but I have it and it can easily be put back on.
I've put in a new battery (6V), fuel tank, hoses, new accelerator cable, and new emergency brake cables. The bus runs and drives very well.
I've taken lots of photos. Feel free to ask for more. I'm happy to answer questions. The bus can be seen and driven most any time. It is very original and unmolested which is not usually the case. I have the clear title in hand.
I have too many cars and have decided to sell 1 or 2.
