Aston Martin Lagonda Limited introduced the DBS in 1967 as a transition from the DB6 model to the new era of Aston Martin. The new DBS featured a larger wheelbase & square full-width grille with a 4-seat coupe configuration, while powered by DB6's iconic 4.0L 6-cylinder inline engine delivering 286 hp and reaching a top speed of 141 mph. Thanks to its impressive exterior design, the car was used in several Hollywood productions including James Bond's 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' and 'The Persuaders' TV Series. The DBS namesake is still used today as homage to this brilliant model.

The Last of the David Brown Astons

The Aston Martin presented here is considered the ideal gentleman's DBS, finished in Deep Carriage Green over Tan leatherwork on wire wheels lavishly equipped with power windows, power assisted steering, air conditioning, automatic transmission, Fiamm horns, rear lapbelts, headrests and rare factory Webasto sunroof. The car was dispatched on June 13, 1969 from the factory and originally imported by Aston Martin Lagonda Inc. as a U.S. model. It was sold new by Aston Martin Lagonda Sales in New York City to a Mr. Armand Bartos of Park Avenue, New York on January 20, 1970.

Mr. Kramer, the second and long-term owner then acquired the DBS from Gran Turismo Automotive Enterprises, LTD. of Greenvale, NY in February of 1973 with trade of a 1964 Aston Martin DB5. Kramer was sure to garage and maintain the car throughout the years as evident by its current condition. We first acquired this fantastic example in early 2013 with just over 48,000 miles - which Mr. Kramer exclaimed were absolutely correct and original. It was then acquired by a well-respected Fashion Designer and Photographer residing in Beverly Hills, California. In May 2015, the DBS' fourth and most recent caretaker took possession of DBS5411LAC in Northern California.

Today, this outstandingly preserved and remarkably original example retains factory equipment, body panels, etched glass, upholstery and paint. Proper Avon tires and Lucas fog lamps compliment. As expected with age, comes the typical bumps, bruises and beautifully mellowed patina. The unspoiled luggage compartment, complete with original tools, spare assembly and jack displays well, as does the solid frame, pans and sills.

Its recently serviced, matching-numbers engine (impossibly correct, right down to its Cheney hose clamps), fires instantly and runs very smooth, delivering ample power via the three-speed Borg Warner transmission - which was serviced as well. The wire wheels are freshly shod with the new aforementioned correct UK supplied Avon tires, whilst the stopping duties are equally well taken care of by the fully rebuilt factory disc brake system. All recent services and part invoices accompany.

Additionally, included with the DBS is its original Instruction Book and British Motor Industry Heritage Trust - verifying the vehicle's factory configuration. This stunning Aston Martin certainly impresses and makes for a strong preservation class competitor. An incredible find for the discerning enthusiast seeking an original, preserved and complete example. Now available at tremendous value for worldwide purchase and delivery from our Houston, Texas showroom.
