Vehicle Description
The Fiat 500, commonly known as "Topolino" is an Italian city car
produced and manufactured by Fiat from 1936 to 1955.
The name "Topolino" translates literally as "little mouse" in
Italian, but is also the Italian name for Mickey Mouse. The
Topolino was one of the smallest cars in the world at the time of
its production. These Fiats were known to be hot rodded, once the
car came to America. It was mostly hot rodded to a dragster, or a
street rod.
But this 1951 Fiat Topolino at Skyway Classics has been restored to
a better-than-new condition. It is really a time capsule of a car.
The roof even folds back for open-air motoring. It has the special
"Carrozzerie Speciali" badging on both sides of cowl to indicate
unique wood side panels.
Car Specs
The four-cylinder engine runs through a manual transmission. The
Emerald green exterior and brown interior has wood accents, real
wood exterior panels on doors, Independent front suspension,
hydraulic brakes and sliding side windows.
Skyway Classics has this Fiat which is one of the smallest Woody
Wagons in the world in 1951. The car was a factory custom built
variant from Carrozzerie, a coach builder in Turin Italy. Very few
models such as this were ever produced and which makes it so rare
today.
